How Does Our Skip Hire Service Work?

Just call us up and tell us what size skip you need and when you want it delivered. We will do the rest! We can usually provide a skip on the date required – in some cases, we can even provide same-day service. Once you fill your skip, just give us a call and we’ll get it picked up. If you want a same-day pick-up service, we can usually oblige.

What Size Skip Is Going To Be Best For Me?

We have skips available that are 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10 cubic metres in volume. If you’re not sure which one to pick, give us a call and we can usually advise.

General recommendations are given below:

  • 3 cubic metres – Ideal for a small tidy-up, detritus from remodelling or redecorating a single room.
  • 4 cubic metres – Very similar to 3 cubic metres.
  • 6 cubic metres – Great for larger refurb projects (ripping out a kitchen and bathroom, for example, or landscaping a bigger garden).
This is a popular choice with tradies.
  • 8 cubic metres – This is best for lightweight waste. It’s typically used for paper or packaging materials.
  • 10 cubic metres – Very similar to 8 cubic metres.

What Materials Can You Take Away?

We can take most non-hazardous waste. Typical examples include paper, card, soil, rocks, old kitchens and bathrooms, rubble, timber, scrap metal, disused appliances, plant waste, old furniture, household goods and general rubbish.

We can’t take asbestos, oil, chemicals, batteries, paint and various other things. If you’re not 100% sure that what you’re putting in the skip is permitted, please call us and we’ll be happy to give you a definitive answer.

What Happens To The Skip Contents?

As an environmentally responsible company, we recycle or reuse as much of the contents of a skip as possible. We have a network of merchants who are able to re-purpose many of the materials that we receive. Our goal is always to dispose of skip contents safely, keeping landfills to an absolute minimum.

Do I Need A Council Permit For My Skip?

If your skip can fit in your driveway or on your land, there is no need to apply for a council permit. If your skip needs to sit on the public road, then you will probably need a permit. We have plenty of experience in obtaining permits and are happy to help if you’ve got any queries or need further information on the fastest, easiest way of getting a permit.

Hire Pro Online offers a quick, flexible and professional skip hire service that’s affordable, convenient and easily accessible to homes and businesses across the Gold Coast.
